Acculturative stress contributes to other negative outcomes outside of the academic environment. Acculturative stress contributes to homelessness, incarceration, increased rates of victimization, negative mental health outcomes, eating disorders, and marginalization through the lack of cultural responsiveness of mental health services to address acculturative stress.
