"I’ve been attending the LODEI Online DEI Officer Certification course taught by Dr. Courtney Plotts for the last 7 months. The course is so relevant to my work as an Instructional Designer, to me personally, and honestly to anyone. Dr. Plotts facilitates the course in a way that feels reassuring, hopeful for humanity, and almost as a soothing counseling session. She is so good at what she does! Her passion about the topic shines through in all the ways she interacts with her learners. She practices what she teaches, and you can see it and learn it…truly. Courtney, you’re the best! Thank you!"

Culturally responsiveness in education is not just a buzzword; it is a powerful and essential approach that holds tremendous importance and value in creating equitable and inclusive learning environments. When educators embrace cultural responsiveness, they acknowledge and honor the diverse backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives of their students.

By valuing and integrating students’ cultural identities into the educational process, culturally responsive education fosters a sense of belonging, authenticity, and empowerment. It recognizes that each student brings a unique set of strengths and assets to the classroom, and it capitalizes on these assets to enhance learning outcomes.
